Campaign 2008-09
The monitoring research programmes, some of which are ongoing for more than ten years, will be pursued this year to provide long-term data series (changes in numbers in invertebrates, plant phenology and seed production, spread of alien species, microclimate). In parallel, we study the consequences of climate change and introduction of species - mammals, plants and invertebrates - on the structure of terrestrials communities:
- consequences of drought on plants and soil erosion; ecophysiological responses of introduced and autochtonous plant species to climate change - impact of introduced species on native communities: the alien earthworm Dendrodilus rubidus tenuis, the predator beetle Oopterus soledadinus, the mouse Mus musculus, the necrophageous fly Calliphora vicina, aphids (role of aphids on the possible presence and dispersal of viral diseases of the plants) - plant-insect interaction between the Kerguelen cabbage Pringlea antiscorbutica and the dipterous Calycopterys moseleyi - biology and ecology of the subantarctic snail Notodiscus hookeri.

The monitoring research programmes, some of which are ongoing for more than ten years, will be pursued to provide long-term data series. In parallel, we study the consequence of climate change and introduction of species - mammals, plants and invertebrates - on the structure of terrestrial communities:
- consequences of drought on plants and soil erosion; ecophysiological responses of plants to climatic and other abiotic stresses - impact of introduced predator, the mouse Mus musculus and the beetle Oopterus soledadinus, on the native invertebrate communities.
The programme of the 2007-2008 summer campaign includes studies on biodiversity in Iles Amsterdam and Saint-Paul, biodiversity and functioning of limnetic ecosystems at Kerguelen, expenditionners as potential vectors for alien species.
